What is Fusion anyway?
Genesis Ministries: Is a network for communication, formation and marketing for young adult ministries in Oakland County, it is a banner organization covering five Vicariates and over 70 parishes.
Fusion Young Adult Community: Is our Pontiac Area Vicariate Young Adult Community, and ONE of several members of the Genesis Ministries Network. Fusion has five commissions: Worship, Faith Formation, Service, Social & Campus Outreach (which includes our SJF Newman Group of Oakland University, our Catholic Student Organization on campus). Fusion IS NOT a St. John Fisher ministry.

History of Fusion: Our Fusion young adult ministry community originated in Oct. 2002. Our Sunday Evening Young Adult Area Masses have been held monthly since August 2003.
Our Vicariate Fusion young adult ministry is definitely one of, if not THE most viable ministry of its kind in the Archdiocese of Detroit, in terms of numbers of young adult participants, and variety and number of programs.
(This statement is based on infromation from Krista Bajoka, Archdiocesan director of Campus and Young Adult Ministry, and several other members of our Archdiocesan Young Adult and Campus Ministry Association.)
Ministry Mission: To build an area young adult community rooted in the love, life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Structure of Fusion: Our Fusion community is lead by two elected co-chairs with terms of 1 year each. Also, there is one Pastoral minister from our PMA that serves as an advisor to the group, which has been Lisa Brown from SJF since 2002. Each of our five commission has (at least) two young adult leaders.
Membership of Fusion: We currently have over 40 active leaders from the following PAV parishes: St. Irenaeus, Christ the Redeemer, St. Joseph Lake Orion, St. Mary’s of the Hills, Sacred Heart of the Hills, St. Andrew, St. John Fisher (and St. Hugo's). We currently have over 800 members on our extensive email mailing list and about 150—200 young adults that connect with our ministry each year in some way.
Funding: The St. John Fisher community, given its special commitment to campus and young adult ministry, has provided a budget of $500 for the past six years. Also, we stipend $125 each for our Presider and music ministry for our Sunday Evening YA area Masses that are covered from the Genesis Ministry budget.
