Bravehearts Men's Group Welcomes All
On Saturday May 17, 2008, St Jospeh (Lake Orion) and Bravehearts welcomes Deacon Alex Jones to our next Bravehearts Breakfast Event. Deacon Jones will be giving a talk titled "When Men Pray". This promises to be an inspiring, engaging talk that all men are invited to attend. Doors open at 8:30 for a continental breakfast, followed by Deacon Jones' talk and a short presentation on Bravehearts - everything will be wrapped up by 10:30. For those who are interested, we offer Holy Mass at 7:30 AM. Registration can be done online at www.stjosephlakeorion.org or by emailing bravehearts@stjosephlakeorion.org. Couple Prayer Series
Bob Ovies and wife Kathy have a widely popular series entitled Couple Prayer
Series. A six-week series for couples focusing on how to share a prayer life
together. St. Mary of the Hills recently hosted the "Hungry for God Series and it was
very well received by the thirty five plus people. This Hungry for God
Series was also a six week series and provided scripture, discussion and the

Mental Health Series at Christ the Redeemer
Over the course of the year, a series of presentations will be offered by mental health professionals to help you to understand some of most pressing issues of the day. Topics will include: Depression, Anxiety, Alzheimer’s Disease, Bipolar (Manic Depressive) Disorder, Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. The first three presentations will be held this winter and spring with the series continuing in the fall. There is no registration fee for these presentations.

Mariahn, a parishioner of CTR, has over 25 years of experience working as a therapist, workshop facilitator, and presenter in the mental health field. She currently works out of the Treeside Psychological Clinic in Lake Orion.

Everest Academy announces the addition of a Junior Kindergarten to its preschool through high school campus. Everest Junior Kindergarten will nurture and challenge young learners to prepare them for Kindergarten while strengthening them in a Christ-centered environment. This developmentally appropriate curriculum strengthens reading, math and writing skills.

In addition to our current half day program for three year-olds and four year-olds, Everest will also offer a convenient extended day preschool. This formative and fun enrichment program gives children additional time to develop basic social and academic skills.

GOLF OUTING TO BENEFIT STUDENTS

Bishop Foley Catholic High School celebrates summer and friends with its third annual Booster Club Golf Outing. This fundraising event provides an enjoyable day and a way for our alumni, families, faculty, staff, and friends to support Bishop Foley.

This year’s event will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Cracklewood Golf Course, 18215 24 Mile Road, Macomb, MI

For over forty years, Bishop Foley Catholic High School has been a leader in Catholic education in the metropolitan Detroit area. Fundraising events such as our Golf Outing bridge the gap between tuition charges and the actual costs needed to provide over 133 academic offerings, 34 athletic teams, music, drama and robotics competitions as well as spiritual and service programs for our students. Foley students are known for their excellence in the classroom. Over 99% of those graduating go on to college, winning over $3 million in college scholarships annually.
